Position Summary
- The Warehouse Controller works under the supervision of logistics Supervisor.
- The Warehouse Controller is responsible for all warehouse operations activities including shipping and receiving, deliveries, coordinating stock, documenting warehouse transactions, maintaining records, maintaining the NSE System, archived records management Stores and overseeing storage of surplus inventory.
- Coordinates the daily operations of the warehouse with the maintenance & Operations Supervisor.
- Performs a variety of shipping/receiving, stocking activities and mentioning RFQ price completion.
- Maintains inventory and stock records, conducting annual stock count.
- The Warehouse Controller role is a rotating shift-based position working 5 days with a requirement to work offshore when circumstances dictate. Additional hours might be required in terms of job conditions.
Major Responsibilities
- Ensure that all tasks are carried out safely at all times.
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouses.
- Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of Stores Inventory into NSE system.
- Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders processes and file documentation with purchase orders documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received. To coordinate with relevant supervisors to inspect the parts before posting process.
- Receives, stores, tags and tracks surplus property, prepares property lists for items to be surplus.
- Maintains the warehouse, records area and stores area in a neat and orderly manner.
- Answers questions regarding procedures and resolve discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs and surplus property.
- Serves as a lead worker to other classified staff in the area.
- Assures all warehouse equipment is maintained and inspected for safe warehouse operation.
- Forklift Driver for the safe operation of forklift for the movement of large items within the warehouse and loading/offloading of vehicles and using forklift to assist with maintenance work as required on the ORF.
- Keep workshops and storage areas clean and tidy.
- Responsible of spare parts codification in the NSE
- Assist in the purchasing process as required.
- Deliver or collect spare parts, consumable stores and other items to and from Marine Services providers onshore location, supplier’s premises or other location as instructed by the Maintenance Manager or logistics Supervisor.
- Perform duties as a Logistics Officer when required.
- Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team as directed.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field will be added an advantage.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse safety protocols.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems and data analysis tools.
- Basic knowledge of supply chain logistics and transportation management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
- Holds a full clean Kingdom of Bahrain Driving License.
- Previous employment record demonstrated commitment and ability in similar jobs.
- Good English reading, written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualities
- Ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Previous experience of work in a warehouse, store or logistics company.
- Training and experience as a crane operator.
- Training and experience as a forklift truck driver.
- Training and experience as a light goods vehicle or public service vehicle driver.
- Willing and conscientious.
- Health & Safety training and experience.
