Position: NSE Support Specialist
Location: Manila

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Position Summary  

Responsible for providing day-to-day support to NS Enterprise and other NS-related project work. Main responsibilities are the deployment of NS support tasks including change requests, data coordination, general support, and other related project work. Other responsibilities are to assist in system testing, report development, user training, and all other NS-related activities.

Major Responsibilities
 
  • Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
  • Understand Seapeak business processes, vessel operations, maintenance, and or procurement as required for supporting NS Enterprise.
  • Assisting with system testing of new releases or any upgrades performed in the vessel or office environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the NS documentation reflects the correct procedures both onboard and in the office.
  • Ensure that any changes to the system are carried out in accordance with Seapeaks management of change procedure
  • Escalate and review any administration concerns with the line manager
  • Conduct NS user training as required.
  • Responsible for managing SSRS report subscriptions.
  • Act as first-level support for PMS and Hull manager queries.     
  • Carry out system administration tasks such as creating seafarers' NS accounts.
  • Ensure all assistance is given on special projects (i.e. dry dock standard jobs and Hull Manager preparation).
  • Troubleshoot issues relating to equipment, spare parts, inventory, and counters, and Escalate system issues to the vendor.
  • Problem ticketing/issue log tracking of vendor NS issues, using Jira
  • Submit support requests and report application errors.
  • Assists Advance User in assessing new software upgrades made available from ABS-NS as required and NSE production vessel upgrades.
  • Coordinates testing with Advance User and reports issues back to ABS-NS.
  • Work with Advance User in assessing and testing hotfixes and patches.
  • Functional testing (including release note testing)

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills
  • Have strong marine engineering background in training and work experience.
  • Demonstrates analytical, problem solving, time management, decision making, and research skills.
  • Have the ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner.
  • Have extensive knowledge of planned maintenance processes, business processes, NS system overall, and modules used.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
