Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading the team of Fleet Support Officers based in Manila.
The Lead Fleet Support Officer ensures alignment of all purchasing activities within their assigned team. They are responsible for adherence to purchasing related processes, interfacing with key stakeholders such as Marine & Technical Services, HSE, Marine Assurance, Marine HR, Contracts, Accounts Payable and Operational Finance.
The Lead Fleet Support Officer is also responsible for ensuring that a high standard of front-line support is provided from their team to the Operations teams. This includes ensuring that all aspects of purchasing (spares/consumables), logistics, delivery, servicing, technical planning, and vendor performance, general vessel purchasing needs are met at all times and reporting any issues directly to the Manager, Contract & Vendor Management as required.
The Lead Fleet Support Officer will also look for opportunities to partner with the Lead Fleet Support Officer (Glasgow) and the Manager, Contract & Vendor Management to drive process alignment opportunities across the entire purchasing team.

Major Responsibilities
- Treat health, safety and environment as top priority.
- Ensure vessels are operated in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, ensuring compliance with class, statutory and company requirements.
- Accountable for the performance of Fleet Support Officers in Manila and Singapore against agreed procedures and KPIs.
- To provide leadership to Fleet Support Officers in Manila and Singapore ensuring purchasing process is monitored from RFQ through to invoice payment.
- Maintain Fleet Support Officer responsibilities for assigned vessels and provide vacation / absence cover as required – duties outlined in Fleet Support Officer job description.
- Responsible and accountable to ensure assigned team are in full compliance with company policies and procedures with regards to purchasing activities, including P2P and processing and payment of invoices.
- Ensuring alignment with all local procedures and policies.
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Purchasing experience, preferably in the marine industry.
- Understanding of business processes and functions.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop direct reports.
- Analytical, problem solving, time management and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to respond positively to stakeholders in an effective manner.
- Ability to use range of IT applications.
